My mom, 2 friends and myself are doing this quilt as a "Friendship Quilt" exchange. We each picked 4 of the Sunbonnet Sue. Our goal is to make 4 blocks of each girl, total 16 blocks. We bought 8 yards of a light blue for our background. This is the main exchange color. I can not wait to see the different technics. We have two machine appliquers and two hand appliquers. I am sure it will be a years worth of work to be done. Will rewrite and send picture when finished.

If you like sun bonnet sue this is a great book
Although I really have very little use for sunbonnet sue as a pattern/design for a quilt, I really love this set of patterns. The international outfits are so cute and different that it keeps the quilt from becoming boring while working on the blocks. Also some of the small details can easily be changed to make the blocks reflect the quilters personality. I really loved making the mermaid block for a guild challenge.
I make Sue Bonnet quilts and this gave me new costume ideas for her. Also used the patterns for ideas in my pre-school when discussing other countries.
got to love the sue. sunbonnet is a pattern that has been around for generations. this is a very nice variation on the theme. i can look at the cover and on most of the sue's guess what country they are from and get it correct. the patterns are full size and easy to use. there is a finished image to look at for fabric ideas and a good full size pattern page. there is a good variety of sue patterns. this would be a good addition to your sunbonnet sue book collection. the book was in mint condition.
