For Jay’s thirtieth birthday, his straight best mate Brenden takes him to a gay bar. Great idea, except that it’s full of guys who think Jay would look great under them. Only one problem with that – Jay may look like a twink, but he’s no one’s bottom. And when he spies the gorgeous, muscled specimen at the end of the bar, he’s not about to waste his time. He knows a top when he sees one.
Dean has had enough of the guys who want him to be their Daddy. What makes it worse is that they’re just his type. Dean is under no illusions. He knows what he looks like. But there has to be one guy in that bar who wants to top him, right?
This is a revised edition of the story previously published as part of the anthology Designated Bottoms by Torquere Press. The story has been expanded by 5,600 words.

They meet in a bar....and need to work out a few kinks and bad habits to be able to fully appreciate what they have found.This is a short story, with really one subplot with Jay's best friend. Some depth from workplace descriptions. A few intimate m/m interactions, with light bondage.
Pleasant no angst story, just some final moments of growing up...enough to see what is front of them.

good read
I really enjoyed this book. People are not as they seem. In the gay/lesbian world we so often put people in slots without even knowing them.
Short and sweet! This was surprisingly complete for a short novella. And now I'm wishing we had Brendan's story too!
I enjoyed this quick read, but I really want to know what else Dean got for his birthday. I wish that there was another story about this couple or about Jay's friend and his boyfriend.
Quick, sexy read. Well written and low on angst. I did not read the original release of his story so I can't comment on the added material.
I like when we get a book about men who 'defy' stereotypes. 'Never judge a book by its cover'.

I could sort of imagine the end at the beginning and when I got what I wanted, it was just right. Enticing visualizations made the clear storyline flow smoothly. Definitely want to know more about Jay and Dean along with Brendan and ...
